Milwaukee Tool Updates ONE-KEY App for More Powerful and Efficient Tool Tracking

In 2015, Milwaukee announced the release of their digital tool tracking platform: ONE-KEY.  The company has since released dozens of ONE-KEY enabled tools to manage them using Bluetooth, an inventory management system, and tool reporting functionality.  Yesterday, the company announced several enhancements to the platforms inventory and reporting interfaces.

Tracking tool locations and users is extremely important for multi-location jobsites.  The ONE-KEY platform for inventory management does not require you to only use Milwaukee’s offering of tools or ONE-KEY devices, any manufacturer’s tools or equipment that you want tracked can be manually added into the system. Plus, it’s completely free to use.

ONE-KEY enabled Milwaukee Tools do give you the ability to remotely change tool settings (it’s fantastic for lighting) and an exteriorly mounted TICK Bluetooth device can add location tracking abilities to any tool it can mount to.

In this latest ONE-KEY platform update, Milwaukee has added three new enhancements: an all-new People Dashboard, enhanced Alerts, and Transfers.

People Dashboard

The new People Dashboard allows you to see a list of all of the people you have entered into ONE-KEY, what jobsites they’re assigned to, and which tools they have been given. A complete profile can be added as well, to store contact information, employee ID, and a photo, if desired.

Alerts

Being able to quickly manage alerts is important to either recovering a lost tool or getting ahead of maintenance needs. These alerts will only be able to come from ONE-KEY enabled devices or equipment that has a TICK attached to it, as it will monitor is a coin cell battery needs replaced, if an item has been found, if an items has left a pre-determined geofence boundary, or if certain tools have reached a cycle limit and need maintenance.

A blue dot in your tool inventory will make it clear which tools currently have alerts or you can use the Alerts tab on the navigation bar to view all active alerts. Because of this update, I just checked my current tool inventory and I found out that two of my TICK devices have a low battery currently and will need changed.

Transfers

Many tools don’t just stay with the same person or jobsite their entire lifetime, so making tool transfers quick and efficient makes it that much easier to keep your tool inventory up-to-date and accurate.

Through the Transfers tab, you can now select which jobsite, person, division, or status you want to transfer tools to with a simple click of a check box.  A filters bar makes it easier to quickly find the tools you need to transfer by narrowing your search down to places, status, people, divisions, manufacturers, category, or ONE-KEY.
