Procore, the company behind the construction management software of the same name, has launched the nomination booth for their 3rd Annual Hard Hat Hero competition, in search of the workers who make a meaningful impact to the world of construction.
According to Procore, a Hard Hat Hero “isn’t defined by a single day of hard work, but by a lifetime of showing up.” It’s not about telling people how much you know, it’s about sharing your knowledge and elevating those around you for the greater good.

This year’s prize is $5,000 to the charity of the first place winner’s choice and a trip to a NASCAR race, where their name and the name of the charity will be printed on the car. The 2nd place winner will receive a food truck to their jobsite for the whole team to enjoy, and 3rd place is 2 tickets to Procore Groundbreak 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Last year’s winner was Chris Caricato, a veteran of the construction industry and the training director for the Sheet Metal Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee of San Diego. The 5 year apprenticeship program they offer is free of charge and the program is established nationwide. In total, there are around 50,000 registered apprentices across the country.
The nomination booth officially opened on July 22, 2019 and will close on August 16, 2019. After nominating your Hard Hat Hero, a round of voting will determine the winners.
