Providing continuous safety training is a key aspect of building a proper safety culture at the jobsite, and a common way that a lot of contractors handle that is through daily or weekly toolbox talks. Fresh new content for safety topics can be hard to find at times, but the NAHB, in conjunction with the Job-Site Safety Institute and National Housing Endowment, has recently released over a dozen free video toolbox talks on their website.

The talks, which are available in both English and Spanish, are typically 5-10 minutes long and currently cover topics such as:

Guardrail Safety
Saw Safety
Electrical Safety
Scaffolding Safety
Chemical Safety and Hazard Communication
Safe Driving
Ladder Safety
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Visuals, like these videos, can be a much more effective means of training than simply talking about the subjects and these are a great option to show at any upcoming meeting. The best part about them is that they actually look like they were made in this century, rather than the decades old instructional videos we’re all used to.
